At Chative, you only get billed for what you use, so you don’t pay for the members who aren’t using Chative. When you purchase a paid plan, the upgrade will apply to your entire organization and you’ll be billed for active members.

How you're billed for members
On paid plans, you’re billed for the members of your organization who are actively using Chative. Certain are paid as follows:
- Agents will be billed $8 for each one - only available in the Pro plan.
- Automation Agents will be billed $15 per for each one - only available in the Automation plan.
- Owner will be billed the same as Agent or Automation Agent in according plans.
- Admin will be billed the same as Agent or Automation Agent in according plans.
Note: If all members are suspended, you'll be billed for a minimum of one member, unless you decide to downgrade to the free version of Chative.
Adding new members during your billing period
If you'd like to invite a new member to your organization, you can add them in Agent sections and invite them to join in case of open seats are available.
If your account is out of the open seats, you have to pay for more in the billing section or accept the system notice to be licensed for adding new members, Chative will charge that seat on the remaining days of the current billing period, and generate you a new billing for the active seats at the next renewal date.
Your organization with 10 paid seats is on the Pro plan, and the billing is issued successively on the 20th of each month. On the 30th of January, 10 days into your billing period, you want to add a new member to your account, and no open seat is available. There are 20 days remaining in your monthly billing period.
How you’re billed
To calculate the cost for adding new seats, we’d divide the cost per seat by the number of days in the month, then multiply by the remaining number of days in the month: ($8 ÷ 30 days) x (20 days) = $5.33
On your next renewable date, your total billing for the Pro plan will be at $8 x 11 = $88
Suspended members during your billing period
If you’re on a paid plan and suspend members partway through the monthly billing period, Chative will automatically detect if members are suspended, and if that happens, your account will be free up an open seat which can then be assigned to a different member with at no additional charge.
And the billing will be renewed accordingly to the seats of the active members at the next renewal date.
Monthly Automated contacts in Automation plan
Monthly Automated Contacts ( MACs) are only available in the Automation plan.
An Automated Contact is defined as an end-user who receives at least one automated chat from either chatbot, mass-broadcast, or follow-up Campaigns. In other words, with Automated Contact, you only pay for the value you get by leveraging Automation features.
When you upgrade to the Automation plan, your account will be available with 1,000 FREE Automated Contacts ( MACs) every month regardless of the number of open seats. The number of MACs can be adjusted accordingly to your usage in the billing section.
And you are able to fully control the numbers of Monthly Automated Contacts by purchasing additional MACs in billing sections. Pay only for what you use; cancel anytime. To help you proactively manage your account, Chative will notify you when you've used up all available MACs and direct you on how to purchase more.
What happens if I upgrade my account to Automation from my previous Pro Plan?
If you upgrade your account from Pro plan to Automation plan, the new billing will charge at $15/month per seat at the upgrade time. Credits will be deducted to your Chative account for the unused portion of the Pro billing period.
Your organization with 10 paid seats is on the Pro plan. 10 days into your billing period of $8/ seat, you upgrade your account to Automation Plan. There are 20 days remaining in your monthly billing period.
How you’re billed
To calculate your credit amount for each seat, we’d divide the cost per seat by the number of days in the month, then multiply by the remaining number of days in the month: ($8 ÷ 30 days) x ( 20 days) = $5.3.
To bill your Automation upgrade, we multiply $15 by the number of seats, then deduct your total credit amount: $15 x 10 - x 10 = $97.
On your next renewable date, we will bill your Automation plan at: $15 x 10 = $150
